Restoration
If you own an older quality heirloom piano, or are considering purchasing one, pianos can be restored to new or like new condition at a cost cheaper than buying an equivalent new piano, making piano restoration a cost effective option to consider. The process of restoration (also referred to as rebuilding) includes more major repair work to the structure of the piano such as pinblock replacement, soundboard and bridge replacement/repair, action rebuilding, string replacement, etc. Each individual piano should be carefully evaluated in order to best meet the needs of the piano and piano owner so as to ensure the quality and longevity of the instrument. Many of the quality pianos made in the last century are good candidates for restoration as they can be restored at a lower cost than the cost of buying an equivalent new piano, and usually with better results.
